Want to Support One Of RFS’ Diverse Candidates? Here’s How.

If you’ve been following the news even a little bit lately, you know the status quo isn’t working. We’re facing a post-Roe world, with out-of-control housing and health care costs, a cruel criminal justices system, and attacks on our democratic institutions, all of which have a disproportionate impact on the marginalized communities.

It’s not enough to give, now’s the time to give with intention.

We’ve set up donation pages where you can split a donation amongst our amazing diverse young progressives and secure lasting political power one local race at a time. You have the opportunity to donate to one — or all of these — groups and help elect candidates that authentically reflect our people and will fight for our rights.

Here’s a round-up of some of our rising stars for you to check out and toss $HPC (or more) to support them directly.

1. DONATE TO RFS’ LGBTQIA+ CANDIDATES!

Since getting started in 2017, Run for Something has been committed to endorsing young, diverse prgressive candidates from every community. We’re proud that over 21% of all of our endorsed candidates are LGBTQIA+. With the increase in anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation over the past 8 months, it’s more important than ever we center those most affected by these laws and elect them to political office.

2. DONATE TO RFS’ LATINX CANDIDATES!

Latinx people make up nearly 20% of the US population yet make up only 1% of all elected officials. If we want to see change, we have to empower and support those that can create a lasting impact on their communities and build a legacy that will open the door for millions of other Latinx candidates to run and win.

3. DONATE TO RFS’ BLACK CANDIDATES!

We know that Black candidates face additional hurdles when running for office: one of those big obstacles is fundraising. Historically, party gatekeepers and institutions didn’t recruit Black people to run all that often because they thought Black leaders were “risky” bets; they just didn’t think Black candidates could raise the money needed to win. We’re trying to change that with your help.

4. DONATE TO RFS’ AAPI CANDIDATES!

While the AAPI community is the fastest growing demographic in the country, it has the least amount of political representation across all elected offices. As the political voice and power of the AAPI community grows, it is our responsibility to support and amplify young progressive Chinese, Korean, Samoan, Thai, Filipino, Japanese, Vietnamese, and the many many many other AAPI leaders running for office.

5. DONATE TO RFS’ SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES!

In addition to our candidates above, RFS is also recruiting and training pro-education, pro-democracy candidates to run and save our schools. We’re fighting back against a coordinated right wing attack that’s turning schools into the newest front in the culture wars. Join us ASAP.
