Today, Run for Something (RFS) is proud to present our latest endorsement class, featuring 69 remarkable candidates from 25 states across the country! We’re happy to share that this class also includes 17 RFS alumni who are back on the ticket and ready to continue their leadership in their communities.

“As we continue to face ongoing threats against schools, democracy, and abortion, I feel hopeful in announcing our biggest endorsement class of the year so far,” said co-founder and co-executive director Amanda Litman. “These candidates understand that local offices are key to enacting meaningful change. We are confident in their commitment to representing the needs of their communities with integrity.”

CANDIDATES

ARKANSAS

Garrett Barnes

Judge, District 2, Craighead County, AR

Primary Date: Mar 5, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Garrett is a dedicated public servant seeking re-election as Justice of the Peace District 2 in Craighead County. With a strong commitment to improving the West End and North Jonesboro communities, Garrett aims to enhance public infrastructure, safety, and overall quality of life. Recognizing that Craighead County is not a rural area, Garrett, a Democrat, is eager to collaborate with the City of Jonesboro and effectively pass policies that benefit the community.

One of Garrett’s main priorities is the investment in comprehensive youth and child care services, recognizing the importance of providing a nurturing environment for the younger generation. Additionally, he advocates for effective mosquito control measures, affordable and habitable housing options, increased sidewalks and trails to promote active lifestyles, and the establishment of job training programs to enhance employment opportunities within the county.

What sets Garrett apart from other officials in the county is his consistent efforts in engaging with the public. He regularly hosts accessible public Town Halls, providing a platform for constructive dialogue and community input. Should he be re-elected, Garrett vows to continue organizing these open forums on a quarterly basis.

In addition to his political endeavors, Garrett has a background in public school education. He is a devoted husband to Maggie and a caring father to two young boys. With his extensive experience and dedication to public service, Garrett is determined to make a positive impact in Craighead County.

CALIFORNIA

Nadia Farjood

Grossmont Healthcare District, Zone 3, San Diego, CA

Election Date: Nov 5, 2024

Nadia is a healthcare attorney and advocate who is running for the Grossmont Healthcare District Board (Zone 3) in East San Diego County. With a strong focus on addressing opioid addiction, the fentanyl crisis, and chronic disease, Nadia aims to create a healthier future for the community. One of her key goals is to provide support to the local hospital in order to meet the specific needs of the area.

As an attorney, Nadia’s primary area of expertise lies in safeguarding patients’ rights. She has extensive experience advising hospitals on issues surrounding environmental and safety regulations, as well as investigating allegations of misconduct within clinical health settings.

Nadia is a San Diego native who attended public schools and went on to study Government and Neurobiology at Harvard. She then received her law degree from Harvard Law School, during which time she became a dedicated advocate for low-income survivors of domestic violence and immigrant youth.

Passionate about public service, Nadia is actively involved in various organizations. She serves on the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, as well as on the boards of the San Diego Women’s Foundation, the Jewish Family Service of San Diego, and the Tariq Khamisa Foundation for youth peace.

In her personal life, Nadia resides in San Diego with her husband, Raul Campillo, and their two dogs, Kiko and Jojo.

Cassandra James

Board of Supervisors, District 1, Solano County, CA

Primary Date: Mar 5, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Cassandra is a dedicated professional with a passion for helping others. Her primary focus is on connecting lower income and formerly homeless individuals with affordable housing options. Having been on the frontlines of the homelessness crisis, Cassandra has also made impactful interventions to support survivors of domestic abuse and assisted formerly incarcerated women in rebuilding their lives.

Residing in Vallejo, Cassandra resides in a multi-generational household with her spouse, two children, and also serves as a part-time caregiver for her grandparent, ensuring they age with dignity. The family’s home in Vallejo was made possible by the GI Bill, coupled with middle-class incomes secured through good union jobs.

Cassandra takes pride in her military background, hailing from a family with a strong military heritage. Her beloved grandfather was a veteran, and this connection has shaped her values and sense of duty. Originally from San Francisco, Cassandra made the move to Vallejo over thirteen years ago.

Education plays a vital role in Cassandra’s professional growth and preparedness. She holds three associate degrees earned from City College of San Francisco: an A.A. in Arts and Humanities, an A.A. in Social Justice, and an A.S. in Behavioral Science. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, Economics, Policy, and Law (PEPL) from Mills College.

Cassandra’s unwavering commitment to helping those in need, coupled with her extensive education and experience, make her a valuable asset in the field of social justice and community development.

Brandon Lamar

City Council, District 3, Pasadena, CA

Primary Date: Mar 5, 2024; General Date: Nov 15, 2024

Brandon is a dedicated community organizer and coalition builder running for the Pasadena City Council District 3 seat. With a strong focus on grassroots organizing and fostering unity, Brandon seeks to bring about positive change and a fresh perspective to the Dias.

One of Brandon’s key priorities is affordable housing. He firmly believes that every resident deserves a safe and stable place to call home. To address this, he plans to craft and advocate for policies that promote affordable housing initiatives, tenant protections, and equitable access to housing opportunities. Additionally, Brandon recognizes the importance of supporting the “mom and pop” landlords of Pasadena.

Public safety is another critical issue for Brandon. He aims to work hand in hand with community organizations and law enforcement agencies to enhance community policing and rebuild trust between the community and the police. By doing so, he hopes to create safer neighborhoods where all residents can thrive.

Through his experience as an impassioned organizer and coalition builder, Brandon has proven his ability to bring people together in pursuit of common goals. With his unwavering dedication and commitment to the community, he is poised to make a positive difference in the lives of Pasadena residents.

Ryan Liu

Community College Board, Area 6, Pasadena, CA

Election Date: Mar 5, 2024

Ryan is an attorney and a nationally recognized advocate for accessible higher education. With a strong passion for expanding opportunities, Ryan became involved in this cause during his time as a first-generation, low-income student at Pasadena City College (PCC), where he graduated as the valedictorian. Armed with a BA from Yale College, an MSc in Higher Education from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. from Yale Law School, Ryan has worked tirelessly to advance accessible and affordable higher education.

Having gained experience in various domains, including politics, national campaigns, and policy and advocacy organizations, Ryan has always remained focused on his local community and PCC. For the past decade, he has dedicated himself to advancing the college and supporting its students. This commitment is evident through his regular engagements, such as speaking at local K-12 schools about higher education and serving as a mentor to PCC students. Additionally, he contributes his expertise as a board member of PCC’s Asian American & Pacific Islander Advisory Committee.

Notably, Ryan’s impactful contributions extend beyond mentoring and advocacy. As the Deputy Campaign Manager of PCC’s successful bond campaign, he played an instrumental role in securing $565 million in funding for the college. Now, Ryan is taking his dedication to the next level by running for the PCC Board of Trustees. His goal is to ensure that students can access the same opportunities he had, allowing them to build brighter futures for themselves and their loved ones. Ryan’s commitment to accessible higher education remains unwavering as he continues to make positive changes at PCC.

Ricardo Ortega Martinez

State Assembly, District 34, CA

Primary Date: Mar 5, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Ricardo is a dedicated Peer Advocate at the Children’s Law Center of California. As the inaugural Los Angeles County Youth Commissioner, he passionately represents the interests of over 2.2 million young people. Additionally, Ricardo holds a prominent role as a member of the California Youth Connection Executive Commission.

Ricardo’s impressive track record includes serving on the Mental Health Board for Transitional Age Youth in California. Notably, he became the youngest commissioner to lend his expertise to the Civil Service Commission in the city of Huntington Park, as well as the Immigration Commission under Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson of the 65th District in California.

In recognition of his outstanding accomplishments, Ricardo was officially acknowledged on December 2nd, 2017, as a Young Senator by State Senator Ricardo Lara in honor of his completion of the highly esteemed 33rd Senate District Young Senators Program.

Remarkably, Ricardo began his impactful work at the age of 17 when he actively contributed to AB 2247-Place to Call Home, an initiative aimed at creating stability for foster youth placements across California. Continuing his commitment to California’s youth, Ricardo, at the age of 20, took part in AB 46-California Youth

Empowerment Commission, which offered an exceptional opportunity for young Californians to engage in civic activities.

Among Ricardo’s notable achievements, he also served as the President of the Los Angeles chapter of a noteworthy non-profit organization, demonstrating his dedication to making a positive impact in the community.

COLORADO

Jessica Hearns

School Board, Mesa County Valley D51, District A, Mesa County Valley, CO

Election Date: Nov 7, 2023

Jessica is a former teacher and mathematician with a deep passion for community and service. With a Master’s in Educational Leadership, Jessica firmly believes that public education is vital for a well-functioning society and an informed electorate.

Motivated by her desire to make a difference, Jessica has been contemplating running for office for several years. She currently sees a unique opportunity to do so, as the incumbent is term-limited. Jessica is committed to ensuring that every student has the best possible school experience, and she believes that a strong school board is crucial in achieving this goal.

One of Jessica’s core values is defending academic freedom and providing teachers with the necessary autonomy to thrive. However, she understands the importance of accountability and will strive to strike the right balance. Recognizing that parental involvement plays a significant role in student success, Jessica aims to enhance communication between all stakeholders in the district.

Excited about the district’s new strategic plan, Jessica is eager to contribute her expertise and help advance its objectives if elected. She understands that tackling student enrollment is a complex issue that affects the entire community and is prepared to engage in difficult conversations. Jessica is committed to gathering comprehensive data, considering all perspectives, and working towards transparent solutions that benefit everyone involved.

Paloma Delgadillo

City Council, Ward 2, Broomfield, CO

Election Date: Nov 7, 2023

Paloma is the current Ward 2 council member serving the residents of Broomfield, Colorado. Assumed office in February of 2023, Paloma has been a dedicated champion for affordable housing, sustainability, and inclusion.

By day, Paloma is a skilled number cruncher, utilizing her analytical expertise to make informed decisions. However, her true passion lies in community organizing. After completing her studies at the University of Chicago in 2015, Paloma embarked on her organizing journey with the National Organization of Women (NOW). Through this experience, she gained invaluable skills, such as speaking at press conferences, appearing on TV, and lobbying elected officials for change.

Paloma firmly believes that it is at the local level of government where the most impactful changes are made in people’s daily lives. She recognizes the importance of attending to even the smallest details in order to create a better and more inclusive Broomfield for all its residents. Paloma considers it a privilege to serve such a vibrant and remarkable community.

Manny Rutinel

State House, District 32, CO

Primary Date: Jun 25, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Manny is an environmental lawyer and advocate for the working class who has set his sights on Colorado’s House District 32, one of the most polluted areas in the country. Raised by a single mother who immigrated from the Dominican Republic in search of a better life for her children, Manny experienced firsthand the struggles of growing up surrounded by polluted air and financial insecurity. Throughout his youth, he juggled part-time jobs, including a stint at McDonald’s, while also serving as a tutor at Kumon. Determined to pursue higher education despite financial hardships, Manny took advantage of community college courses, ultimately obtaining his Associate’s degree shortly after completing high school.

During the difficult times of the Great Recession, Manny and his mother faced the devastating loss of their home. Undeterred by these setbacks, Manny persisted in his studies and successfully earned a Master’s degree in Economics from Johns Hopkins University, followed by a law degree from Yale Law School. His perseverance and resilience through adversities are exemplified by the scar on his arm, a reminder of the countless plasma donations he made to make ends meet.

Upon entering his professional career, Manny joined Earthjustice as an environmental attorney. In this capacity, he dedicated himself to challenging major corporations that prioritize profit over the protection of our precious air, water, and land resources. Through his efforts, Manny aimed to hold these corporations accountable for their destructive practices.

Now, Manny is ready to take his commitment to environmental justice and advocacy for the working class even further by running for office in Colorado’s House District 32. With his diverse background, deep understanding of economic matters, and unwavering determination, Manny aspires to create a healthier, more prosperous future for his community and beyond.

DELAWARE

Monica Beard

State House, District 22, Delaware

Primary Date: Sep 10, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Monica, a Hockessin native, embarked on a European journey to pursue her education before establishing roots back in her hometown to raise her son. Throughout her life, she has consistently championed for the rights of the most vulnerable Delawareans. Monica has an extensive background in advocacy, having worked for esteemed organizations such as Planned Parenthood and the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

At present, Monica’s dedication to her community remains unwavering. She actively contributes to the First State Abortion Fund and the Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence as a board member. Additionally, Monica generously invests her time as a volunteer advocate for children in foster care.

Driven by her unwavering passion, Monica focuses on several key issues of utmost importance. She firmly believes in implementing common sense restrictions when it comes to firearms. Monica is equally committed to protecting reproductive rights, ensuring that individuals in Delaware have the freedom to make choices regarding their own bodies. Moreover, she tirelessly works towards bridging the gap by advocating for accessible and affordable childcare and education for all Delawareans.

Through her relentless efforts, Monica strives to create a better future for her community by addressing these critical matters head-on.

FLORIDA

Sarah Henry

State House, District 38, FL

Primary Date: Aug 20, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Sarah is a dedicated professional with a strong passion for public service and a deep-rooted commitment to social change. With a career in the nonprofit sector that spans various roles in communications, development, and compliance, Sarah has consistently demonstrated a tireless work ethic and a genuine enthusiasm for making a difference.

Inspired by her grandfather, a former Naval submariner and elected public servant, Sarah’s unwavering sense of civic duty has been ingrained in her since childhood. Her desire to contribute to her community and effect positive change is what drives her professional endeavors.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Sarah finds fulfillment in spending quality time with her loved ones in her hometown of Altamonte Springs, FL. She cherishes moments with her husband, Nicolas, and their pit bull mix, Maisel.

Sarah holds a B.A. in Political Science from Lynn University and an M.P.A. with a specialization in Nonprofit Management from American University. These educational achievements have provided her with a solid foundation to excel in her chosen field.

Sarah’s passion for public service is unwavering, as evidenced by her recent run for the Florida House District 38 in 2022. While narrowly missing victory, this experience has only fueled her determination to re-enter the race in the upcoming 2024 cycle.

With her unwavering commitment to social change, Sarah continues to inspire those around her, making a lasting impact through her work in the nonprofit sector and her relentless pursuit of public service.

Sarah Leonardi

School Board, District 3, Broward County, FL

Primary Date: Aug 20, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Sarah is a former teacher with nearly a decade of experience, specializing in teaching English in Broward County’s public high schools. She brings extensive knowledge and dedication to her role as the school board member for Broward County Public School’s District 3.

Throughout her time in Broward Schools, Sarah actively contributed to the educational community. She served as a sponsor for various clubs, mentored fellow teachers, and, in 2016, was honored as the Teacher of the Year at Coconut Creek High School. Her passion for education was instilled at an early age, having grown up in Cairo, Egypt, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she witnessed the transformative power of education firsthand.

Sarah returned to the United States to pursue higher education at the University of Miami, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education in 2011. Her upbringing and academic background have shaped her firm belief in the importance of quality education in changing lives.

Representing Broward County Public School’s District 3, Sarah advocates for the needs of her constituents residing in the east side of the county, which includes some of the oldest schools in the region. She has successfully secured over $80 million in funding for new construction projects within her district. Sarah is a respected voice on matters of transparency, accountability for district leadership, and ensuring educational equity for all students.

With her unwavering commitment to educational progress and her tireless efforts, Sarah Leonardi continues to be a driving force in Broward County’s educational landscape.

GEORGIA

Ruwa Romman

State House, District 97, GA

Primary Date: May 21, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Ruwa is a dedicated public servant and community leader currently serving as the Representative for Georgia State House District 97. With a background in organizing, policy analysis, and management, Ruwa is deeply committed to empowering communities and promoting civic engagement.

Throughout her career, Ruwa has demonstrated her passion for advocacy and community building. She has worked tirelessly as an organizer with the Asian American Advocacy Fund and played a pivotal role in co-founding the Georgia Volunteer Hub. In addition, Ruwa has made significant contributions to the Georgia Muslim Voter Project through her organizing efforts.

Ruwa’s educational background further enhances her ability to effect positive change. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Oglethorpe University and a Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University. Her expertise in policy analysis is evident in her work for a professional services management company, where she developed strategies to address complex policy issues at the local, state, and federal levels.

With her diverse skill set and unwavering dedication, Ruwa continues to make a lasting impact on her community. As the Representative for Georgia State House District 97, she remains focused on championing the needs and interests of her constituents while striving to build a stronger and more engaged community.

IOWA

Jonathan Grieder

City Council, At-Large, Waterloo, IA

Election Date: Nov 7, 2023

Born to a firefighter and a nurse, Jonathan was raised with a strong sense of public service and a determination to tackle challenges head-on. After graduating from Luther College, Jonathan pursued a career in education, becoming a dedicated public school teacher for the past decade.

Inspired by the diversity and drive of the Waterloo community, Jonathan decided to make Waterloo their home in 2015. Alongside his amazing wife, he is incredibly grateful to be raising their two smart and lovely daughters in Waterloo.

In 2019, Jonathan ran for City Council with a clear vision to build a bright future for Waterloo. And he has delivered. Over the past four years, Waterloo has embraced ambitious goals to address the urgent climate crisis. Jonathan has played a pivotal role in implementing policies that provide families with greater access to quality child care. Moreover, they have championed investments in 21st century infrastructure, including the establishment of a public utility broadband network.

Furthermore, Jonathan has been a vocal advocate for creating an inclusive and welcoming community for all residents. Their leadership in this area has been instrumental in ensuring that Waterloo remains a place where everyone feels valued and supported.

Proud of their accomplishments thus far, Jonathan is committed to continuing their work over the next four years. With a focus on progress and collaboration, they will strive to drive positive change, improve the quality of life for residents, and secure a prosperous future for Waterloo.

KANSAS

Ciara Chaney

City Council, Ward 5, Prairie Village, KS

Ciara is a dedicated professional and a first-time candidate running for a vacant seat on the City Council in Prairie Village. Currently, she leverages her expertise in human resources (HR) at a local hospital, specializing in recruitment strategies, labor issues, and staying informed about market trends in the healthcare industry.

With a deep belief in the importance of a healthy community, Ciara recognizes the significance of monitoring taxes. By doing so, she aims to ensure that residents have the means to afford crucial preventive healthcare services. Emma Jones

Board of Education, District 1, Gardner-Edgerton, KS

Emma is a dedicated advocate for public education with a strong passion for the well-being of students and teachers. She actively participates in board meetings, where she eloquently voices her support for teacher support and creating an inclusive learning environment. Recognizing the vital role that quality educators play in providing a top-notch education, Emma has made it one of her campaign priorities to foster positive relationships between parents and educators in her district.

When Emma isn’t devoting her time to education, she can often be found indulging in her love for gardening or selflessly volunteering for local non-profits focused on gardening initiatives. Her commitment to the overall betterment of her community is evident through her dedication to serving her district and creating a strong sense of unity within her neighborhood.

Katie Williams

Board of Education, District 3, Gardner, KS

Katie is a dedicated former educator seeking re-election to the USD231 School Board. With a wide range of interests, she has been actively involved in numerous philanthropic endeavors, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Drink Local Think Global, and Gardner Pride. Katie is a vocal advocate for student and teacher rights, championing causes such as special education and social-emotional learning. Her commitment to public education is unwavering, as she strives to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment for all students and teachers. Known for her compassionate leadership style and unwavering integrity, Katie is deeply committed to serving the community she calls home. Currently residing in Gardner, Kansas with her husband, son, two cats, and two dogs, Katie brings firsthand knowledge and understanding of the needs of her constituents.

KENTUCKY

Chad Aull

State House, District 79, KY

Primary Date: May 21, 2024; General Date: Nov 5, 2024

Chad is a State Representative serving in the General Assembly. He was elected in 2022 and is currently a Freshman member. In addition to his role as a legislator, Chad holds the position of Freshman House Democratic caucus chair.

During the 2023 Legislative session, Chad distinguished himself as one of the few Democratic members who successfully passed legislation. He collaborated with members of the majority party to pass a bipartisan bill that permits schools, both public and private, to have a designated School Resource Officer on campus. This legislation aims to enhance school safety and facilitate a swift response in the unfortunate event of a school shooting.

Chad has also sponsored several bills addressing important issues. He has proposed measures related to underage drinking and driving, bio-marker testing to improve the detection of rare forms of cancer, the removal of confederate holidays from Kentucky state statute, and the expansion of the Child Nutrition program to combat childhood hunger.

Chad resides in Lexington along with his wife Marisa, their 16-year-old daughter Isabella, and 6-year-old son William.

MAINE

April Fournier

City Council, At-Large, Portland, ME

Election Date: Nov 7, 2023

April is an Indigenous Dine’ woman who is deeply committed to her community. As a mother, educator, and advocate, she actively works to break down barriers in government and education so that everyone can fully participate.

With a strong belief in the power of inclusivity, April strives to ensure that marginalized individuals and groups have a voice in the decisions that directly affect them. By including these often overlooked perspectives in important conversations, she fosters a more equitable and representative community.

Running for re-election to the Portland City Council, April is driven by her belief that the city needs a leader who has a proven track record of building relationships and creating connections both inside and outside City Hall. She has diligently worked to facilitate access points for the public to engage with local government, strengthening the bridge between residents and policymakers.

Addressing Portland’s most pressing issues is a top priority for April. Feanna Jattan-Singh

City Council, District 3, Worcester, MA

Feanna is a multifaceted professional with diverse experiences in the fields of real estate, education, and entrepreneurship. With a strong educational background, she holds a degree in International Business from Johnson and Wales University.

Having lived in Worcester since 2010, Feanna has been deeply committed to serving the local community. Her passion for making a difference led her to volunteer extensively, both through her involvement with the Kiwanis Club of Worcester and various church activities.

Over the course of ten years, Feanna also worked as a substitute teacher, contributing to the development and growth of countless students. Through her role as an educator, she honed her problem-solving skills, effectively addressing challenges and finding innovative solutions.

In addition to her involvement in education and community service, Feanna is a successful business owner. Her entrepreneurial spirit has guided her in establishing and managing a thriving enterprise. With her keen eye for opportunities and determination to succeed, Feanna has consistently demonstrated her ability to navigate the dynamic world of business.

With an unwavering commitment to excellence, Feanna continues to make a positive impact in her professional and personal endeavors. As she continues to evolve and grow, her problem-solving skills and dedication to serving others will undoubtedly propel her to new heights of success.

Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler

City Council, At-Large, Cambridge, MA

Election Date: Nov 7, 2023

Jivan is a firm believer in the positive impact of local government and its role in shaping communities. Growing up in subsidized housing and benefiting from health insurance through CHIP, he personally experienced the transformative power of public commitments. Destiny’s professional background includes serving as the Communications Director of the Virginia AFL-CIO. In this role, she tirelessly advocated for hardworking Virginians, ensuring their voices were heard and their rights protected. With a focus on equal, equitable, and safe worker rights and protections, she relentlessly fought for the well-being of over 330,000 union members and their families across the Commonwealth.

Destiny holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Richmond. She continued her education at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, where she earned a Master of Arts in International Affairs.

Jace’s notable achievements include his instrumental role in securing more than $100 million in critical childcare funding and successfully flipping seats from red to blue in Whatcom County.

His primary focus is resolving the pressing issue of the cost-of-living crisis, with a particular emphasis on housing. In addition to their consultancy work, ChrisTiana has been actively involved in civic leadership. They have served as the co-chair of both the Seattle Disability Commission and the Renters Commission, bringing a valuable perspective to these important bodies. As a member of the Green Party WA, they are committed to advocating for environmentally sustainable policies that benefit our community and beyond.

ChrisTiana’s impressive list of accomplishments includes co-organizing the passage of one of the country’s first bans on sub-minimum wage, a major step towards fair and just compensation. They have also successfully advocated for the adoption of Disability Justice principles at the Seattle Office of Civil Rights, promoting inclusivity and accessibility for all. Their involvement in the fight for rent control resulted in significant advances, including a six-month advance notice legislation. Currently, Amber is employed as a Meatcutter apprentice in a local grocery store, where her outspoken nature and people-centric mindset led her to become actively involved with her union, UFCW 3000. When she learned about the upcoming election for the position of Hospital Commissioner, Amber felt a calling to run.

Graduating from Iola-Scandinavia High School in 2018, he decided to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point despite uncertainties arising from program cuts. Undeterred, he demonstrated his determination by actively participating in Student Go and serving on a policy committee that aimed to promote sensible decision-making.

Throughout the challenging times of the pandemic, Collin continued their commitment to service as the Student Body President. His tenacity, willingness to ask tough questions, and ability to challenge the status quo became well-known qualities during their tenure. Cassi Benedict

Her experience working for Wisconsin State agencies after college and her current role as a commissioner for the Sun Prairie Utilities Commission have equipped her with a deep understanding of governmental bureaucracies and the potential for positive impact that lies within local communities.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Cassi is an active member of her community. Her contributions include volunteering at her church to promote inclusivity, playing a pivotal role in organizing Sun Prairie’s inaugural Pridefest in June 2023, and recently joining the city’s housing coalition.
