Today, Run for Something (RFS) is proud to present our latest endorsement class, featuring 69 remarkable candidates from 25 states across the country! We’re happy to share that this class also includes 17 RFS alumni who are back on the ticket and ready to continue their leadership in their communities.

ARKANSAS
Judge, District 2, Craighead County, AR

Garrett is a dedicated public servant seeking re-election as Justice of the Peace District 2 in Craighead County. With a strong commitment to improving the West End and North Jonesboro communities, Garrett aims to enhance public infrastructure, safety, and overall quality of life. Recognizing that Craighead County is not a rural area, Garrett, a Democrat, is eager to collaborate with the City of Jonesboro and effectively pass policies that benefit the community.
One of Garrett’s main priorities is the investment in comprehensive youth and child care services, recognizing the importance of providing a nurturing environment for the younger generation. Additionally, he advocates for effective mosquito control measures, affordable and habitable housing options, increased sidewalks and trails to promote active lifestyles, and the establishment of job training programs to enhance employment opportunities within the county.

Nadia is a healthcare attorney and advocate who is running for the Grossmont Healthcare District Board (Zone 3) in East San Diego County. With a strong focus on addressing opioid addiction, the fentanyl crisis, and chronic disease, Nadia aims to create a healthier future for the community. One of her key goals is to provide support to the local hospital in order to meet the specific needs of the area.
As an attorney, Nadia’s primary area of expertise lies in safeguarding patients’ rights. She has extensive experience advising hospitals on issues surrounding environmental and safety regulations, as well as investigating allegations of misconduct within clinical health settings.
Nadia is a San Diego native who attended public schools and went on to study Government and Neurobiology at Harvard. She then received her law degree from Harvard Law School, during which time she became a dedicated advocate for low-income survivors of domestic violence and immigrant youth.

Cassandra is a dedicated professional with a passion for helping others. Her primary focus is on connecting lower income and formerly homeless individuals with affordable housing options. Having been on the frontlines of the homelessness crisis, Cassandra has also made impactful interventions to support survivors of domestic abuse and assisted formerly incarcerated women in rebuilding their lives.
Residing in Vallejo, Cassandra resides in a multi-generational household with her spouse, two children, and also serves as a part-time caregiver for her grandparent, ensuring they age with dignity. The family’s home in Vallejo was made possible by the GI Bill, coupled with middle-class incomes secured through good union jobs.
Cassandra takes pride in her military background, hailing from a family with a strong military heritage. Her beloved grandfather was a veteran, and this connection has shaped her values and sense of duty. Originally from San Francisco, Cassandra made the move to Vallejo over thirteen years ago.
Education plays a vital role in Cassandra’s professional growth and preparedness. She holds three associate degrees earned from City College of San Francisco: an A.A. in Arts and Humanities, an A.A. in Social Justice, and an A.S. in Behavioral Science. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, Economics, Policy, and Law (PEPL) from Mills College.

Brandon is a dedicated community organizer and coalition builder running for the Pasadena City Council District 3 seat. With a strong focus on grassroots organizing and fostering unity, Brandon seeks to bring about positive change and a fresh perspective to the Dias.
One of Brandon’s key priorities is affordable housing. He firmly believes that every resident deserves a safe and stable place to call home. Ryan is an attorney and a nationally recognized advocate for accessible higher education. With a strong passion for expanding opportunities, Ryan became involved in this cause during his time as a first-generation, low-income student at Pasadena City College (PCC), where he graduated as the valedictorian. Armed with a BA from Yale College, an MSc in Higher Education from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. from Yale Law School, Ryan has worked tirelessly to advance accessible and affordable higher education.
Having gained experience in various domains, including politics, national campaigns, and policy and advocacy organizations, Ryan has always remained focused on his local community and PCC. For the past decade, he has dedicated himself to advancing the college and supporting its students. This commitment is evident through his regular engagements, such as speaking at local K-12 schools about higher education and serving as a mentor to PCC students. Additionally, he contributes his expertise as a board member of PCC’s Asian American & Pacific Islander Advisory Committee.
Notably, Ryan’s impactful contributions extend beyond mentoring and advocacy. As the Deputy Campaign Manager of PCC’s successful bond campaign, he played an instrumental role in securing $565 million in funding for the college. Now, Ryan is taking his dedication to the next level by running for the PCC Board of Trustees. His goal is to ensure that students can access the same opportunities he had, allowing them to build brighter futures for themselves and their loved ones. Ryan’s commitment to accessible higher education remains unwavering as he continues to make positive changes at PCC.
State Assembly, District 34, CA

Ricardo is a dedicated Peer Advocate at the Children’s Law Center of California. As the inaugural Los Angeles County Youth Commissioner, he passionately represents the interests of over 2.2 million young people. Additionally, Ricardo holds a prominent role as a member of the California Youth Connection Executive Commission.
Ricardo’s impressive track record includes serving on the Mental Health Board for Transitional Age Youth in California. Notably, he became the youngest commissioner to lend his expertise to the Civil Service Commission in the city of Huntington Park, as well as the Immigration Commission under Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson of the 65th District in California.
In recognition of his outstanding accomplishments, Ricardo was officially acknowledged on December 2nd, 2017, as a Young Senator by State Senator Ricardo Lara in honor of his completion of the highly esteemed 33rd Senate District Young Senators Program.
Remarkably, Ricardo began his impactful work at the age of 17 when he actively contributed to AB 2247-Place to Call Home, an initiative aimed at creating stability for foster youth placements across California. Continuing his commitment to California’s youth, Ricardo, at the age of 20, took part in AB 46-California Youth
Empowerment Commission, which offered an exceptional opportunity for young Californians to engage in civic activities.
Among Ricardo’s notable achievements, he also served as the President of the Los Angeles chapter of a noteworthy non-profit organization, demonstrating his dedication to making a positive impact in the community.

By day, Paloma is a skilled number cruncher, utilizing her analytical expertise to make informed decisions. However, her true passion lies in community organizing. After completing her studies at the University of Chicago in 2015, Paloma embarked on her organizing journey with the National Organization of Women (NOW). Through this experience, she gained invaluable skills, such as speaking at press conferences, appearing on TV, and lobbying elected officials for change.
Paloma firmly believes that it is at the local level of government where the most impactful changes are made in people’s daily lives. She recognizes the importance of attending to even the smallest details in order to create a better and more inclusive Broomfield for all its residents. Manny is an environmental lawyer and advocate for the working class who has set his sights on Colorado’s House District 32, one of the most polluted areas in the country. Raised by a single mother who immigrated from the Dominican Republic in search of a better life for her children, Manny experienced firsthand the struggles of growing up surrounded by polluted air and financial insecurity. Throughout his youth, he juggled part-time jobs, including a stint at McDonald’s, while also serving as a tutor at Kumon. Determined to pursue higher education despite financial hardships, Manny took advantage of community college courses, ultimately obtaining his Associate’s degree shortly after completing high school.
During the difficult times of the Great Recession, Manny and his mother faced the devastating loss of their home. Undeterred by these setbacks, Manny persisted in his studies and successfully earned a Master’s degree in Economics from Johns Hopkins University, followed by a law degree from Yale Law School. His perseverance and resilience through adversities are exemplified by the scar on his arm, a reminder of the countless plasma donations he made to make ends meet.
Upon entering his professional career, Manny joined Earthjustice as an environmental attorney. In this capacity, he dedicated himself to challenging major corporations that prioritize profit over the protection of our precious air, water, and land resources. Through his efforts, Manny aimed to hold these corporations accountable for their destructive practices.
Now, Manny is ready to take his commitment to environmental justice and advocacy for the working class even further by running for office in Colorado’s House District 32. With his diverse background, deep understanding of economic matters, and unwavering determination, Manny aspires to create a healthier, more prosperous future for his community and beyond.

Born to a firefighter and a nurse, Jonathan was raised with a strong sense of public service and a determination to tackle challenges head-on. After graduating from Luther College, Jonathan pursued a career in education, becoming a dedicated public school teacher for the past decade.
Inspired by the diversity and drive of the Waterloo community, Jonathan decided to make Waterloo their home in 2015. Alongside his amazing wife, he is incredibly grateful to be raising their two smart and lovely daughters in Waterloo.
In 2019, Jonathan ran for City Council with a clear vision to build a bright future for Waterloo. And he has delivered. Over the past four years, Waterloo has embraced ambitious goals to address the urgent climate crisis. Jonathan has played a pivotal role in implementing policies that provide families with greater access to quality child care. Moreover, they have championed investments in 21st century infrastructure, including the establishment of a public utility broadband network.

Chad is a State Representative serving in the General Assembly. He was elected in 2022 and is currently a Freshman member. In addition to his role as a legislator, Chad holds the position of Freshman House Democratic caucus chair.
During the 2023 Legislative session, Chad distinguished himself as one of the few Democratic members who successfully passed legislation. He collaborated with members of the majority party to pass a bipartisan bill that permits schools, both public and private, to have a designated School Resource Officer on campus. This legislation aims to enhance school safety and facilitate a swift response in the unfortunate event of a school shooting.
Chad has also sponsored several bills addressing important issues. He has proposed measures related to underage drinking and driving, bio-marker testing to improve the detection of rare forms of cancer, the removal of confederate holidays from Kentucky state statute, and the expansion of the Child Nutrition program to combat childhood hunger.
Chad resides in Lexington along with his wife Marisa, their 16-year-old daughter Isabella, and 6-year-old son William.

April Fournier

Jivan is a firm believer in the positive impact of local government and its role in shaping communities. Growing up in subsidized housing and benefiting from health insurance through CHIP, he personally experienced the transformative power of public commitments. Now, in his bid for City Council, Jivan aims to leverage his own experiences to address key challenges in Cambridge, such as housing and childcare affordability, sustainability, and improved transportation systems.
During his previous tenure on the City Council in 2020–2021, Jivan demonstrated his dedication to the community. He played a crucial role in the creation of hundreds of affordable homes in Cambridge, advocated for safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists, and championed a drive for greater governmental transparency and accountability. Following his term on the Council, he took up the position of New England Progressive Governance Director for the Working Families Party. ChrisTiana’s impressive list of accomplishments includes co-organizing the passage of one of the country’s first bans on sub-minimum wage, a major step towards fair and just compensation. Graduating from Iola-Scandinavia High School in 2018, he decided to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point despite uncertainties arising from program cuts. Undeterred, he demonstrated his determination by actively participating in Student Go and serving on a policy committee that aimed to promote sensible decision-making.
Throughout the challenging times of the pandemic, Collin continued their commitment to service as the Student Body President.
