Nithya, a native of Kerala, India, relocated to the United States at the age of six. With an impressive educational background including degrees from Harvard and training in urban planning at MIT, she embarked on a journey to combat extreme poverty and advocate for basic necessities such as water, plumbing, and shelter in Delhi and Chennai. Eventually settling in Los Angeles, she played a vital role in addressing the city’s growing homelessness crisis by co-founding the SELAH neighborhood homelessness coalition.
Through her extensive volunteer work, Nithya observed numerous gaps in LA’s systems and tirelessly engaged with local officials to propose improvements. Unfortunately, she often found that her efforts were not met with tangible actions. Fueled by her passion for a more responsive local government, Nithya made the decision to run for city council in 2020. Running a grassroots campaign, she achieved the remarkable feat of unseating an incumbent candidate.
Since taking office, Nithya has spearheaded a transformative approach to homelessness in her district. She has significantly expanded outreach initiatives, as well as shelter and housing resources, leading to the first reduction in homelessness rates since 2016. Furthermore, her office has successfully authored and passed groundbreaking legislation, including the most substantial expansion of tenant protections in Los Angeles within the past four decades. Additionally, she advocated for a carbon-free mandate on all new development projects.

He graduated with a dual major in Political Science and Communication from the University of Colorado Boulder, and he is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the University of Colorado Denver.
Kenny’s professional journey includes notable positions such as an AmeriCorps Service Member for the “I Have a Dream” Foundation in Boulder, where he made a lasting impact on the community. Additionally, Kenny served as a community organizer for the successful Jared Polis for Governor campaign in 2018.
Presently, Kenny holds the role of Executive Assistant to Colorado’s Lieutenant Governor, Dianne Primavera, utilizing his expertise to support and enhance her work. Furthermore, Kenny actively contributes to the Broomfield Arts, History, and Cultural Council as its Chair. Demonstrating his dedication to uplifting the Asian American Pacific Islander community, he also serves as Vice Chair to the Colorado Democratic Party Asian American Pacific Islander Initiative.
Outside of his professional commitments, Kenny is a beloved member of Colorado’s anime and cosplay community. Clay, a native Charlestonian, has dedicated his life to public service. He holds a degree from The Citadel and currently serves as a Battalion Commander in the South Carolina Army National Guard, holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
With combat and operational experience during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Clay has also actively supported various federal and state missions. He has made significant contributions to the SC National Guard Association Executive Council and has been recognized with numerous military honors and awards.
Selected by President Barack Obama, Clay served in the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at the Corporation for National and Community Service. He started as an associate and later took on the role of acting director.
In 2017, Clay assumed the position of Director of Business Services for the city of Charleston.
